Hong Kong,China -MarketWatch (USA), by Chris Oliver -Jan. 26, 2011: -- Toyota Motor Corp. announced Wednesday a number of vehicle recalls domestically and overseas, pressuring its shares in late afternoon trading in Tokyo. The recall announcement, reportedly the first by Toyota since October, applied to about 1.2 million vehicles in Japan and 245,000 vehicle in the U.S, as well as a smaller number of vehicles in Europe, for a variety of defects including some relating to fuel systems. Vehicles affected by the recall reportedly include the Noah minivan in Japan manufactured between 2000 to 2008, the IS and GS Lexus models in the U.S. and the Avensis sedan and station wagon in Europe.
